We visited an historic part of Conyers, GA called Olde Town Conyers. John's a huge fan of In Heat of the Night and Bea loves The Originals. Not to mention all of the other films and TV shows that were filmed there. Both of us spent most of the morning touring around the city and stopping for a bite to eat at the Celtic Tavern. Another restaurant that is a must stop on your journey.
After lunch we headed to a coffee location that was on our list. The Java Highway led us to a newer location in Conyers called MiZo Coffee Co. Let us start by saying that the vibe you get from walking through their doors is one of the most positive and uplifting feelings.
The girl that took our order was so helpful in helping us make our choices. Bea had an iced banana bread in a cup latte with oatmilk, and John had an iced white chocolate raspberry latte. One word...Delicious!
We had timed our arrival perfectly as Marlessia Yancey, owner of MiZo Coffee Co. stopped in for a brief moment. We had the opportunity to speak with her for a few moments and take it from us you will be so amazed with her story. The determination, confidence, family orientation, hard work, and expectations she has is what it's all about. She's all about incorporating her family into her business.
The first question you may ask is how did she come up with MiZo Coffee Co. for a name? She named her business after her two beautiful granddaughters, Mila and Zoie.
We can't reveal it all to you. You just need to make a stop there and ask Marlessia yourself.
We enjoyed our visit so much on the first day that we returned the next morning for some more delicious coffee. On this day, we were met with something that wasn't there the day before. Caramel Drizzle and Lemon Pound Cake! Oh my word! Marlessia makes everything homemade. John and Bea both agree that there has never been anything close to it. Bea doesn't normally like things that are lemon flavored. Well...this was phenomenal!
Now this leads us to our drink choices. MiZo Coffee Co. is the HOME of The Woodsy Owl and The Honey Badger. All of the other coffee shop locations have never been able to put anything like this together. You have to try it yourself.
Just imagine that you're having a really rough day and need just something a little more than coffee. That's okay! MiZo Coffee Co. has what you covered. MiZo Push! It's an energy drink that will give you the boost of energy you need for your day.
Marlessia has some great ideas coming to her business and she has a great vision of how the community should come together. We can honestly say that this is one coffee shop where you walk through their doors as strangers and walk out as family!
