Common Grounds Coffee Shop

Through a recommendation we made sure that Common Grounds Coffee Shop was on our list of places to visit. Located in an older part of Cleveland, this little gem is definitely worth it. It's surrounded by several local shops with street parking. If you're having a hard time finding a space, don't fret. There is a parking lot behind the building. From that parking lot you will see a bright red door. This coffee shop is a little different from other shops that you may have visited. If you come in through the front of the building it will resemble what you're used to, but if you go in the back way you will be met with a back room with the classic pinball machines and tables. 



There are not many people working so please be patient. Don't worry, though, they are quick with orders. There's a large menu to select from plus a few bakery items which are all made in house. 

For our visit...Bea ordered a hot Caramel Cheesecake latte (White Chocolate Caramel). Full of flavor and not a bad word to say about it. John went with a recommendation of the Raspberry Bitch Kiss (Raspberry White Chocolate mocha). He stated that the "sweetness was perfect and raspberry was the prominent flavor." One of his favorites! For this trip we had a guest with us. He ordered an iced Funky Monkey latte (Chocolate Covered Banana). He stated that it was "really good." 

There was a particular drink that was a solid recommendation and a must try. That would be an iced Nutty Irishman (homemade Mocha, Hazelnut and Irish Cream). It's a perfect blend of flavors.


To go with our drinks we all shared a couple cookies that they had to offer. These cookies are quite large. You can never go wrong with a good Peanut Butter cookie. It was soft and delicious. The other cookie we shared was the M&M cookie. Soft and packed with M&M's. 



One thing that really stands out about Common Grounds Coffee Shop is the vibe. It has an artsy feel to it. Not too mention, their business hours. They're open late which works out really well for those that want a late cup of coffee, or those event goers leaving the Cleveland area.

We knew that Mount Airy, North Carolina was close to where we were heading. A little coffee shop located downtown Mount Airy called Keepsmiling A'Latte. She grew up in the area many years prior to heading off to Colorado to marry the love of her life...John. We were coming in the area for a concert and wanted to grab some coffee prior to meeting up with the other party.  While looking for a coffee shop, Little Birdie Wine Nest caught our attention.
