The Lucky Penny Cafe

The Lucky Penny Cafe
100 U.S. Grant St.
LaGrange, OH 44050

Since we came home from our trip we decided that it was time for us to get back out there and indulge in some delicious coffee, especially since pumpkin spice season has come into full swing. If anyone knows Bea, know that she's a pumpkin spice girl. She takes her pumpkin spice very seriously.

For the past few weeks we have been busy researching a few coffee shops and found a little place in LaGrange, Ohio called The Lucky Penny Cafe. On Saturday, we left a little after eight o'clock in the morning and arrived around half past nine. It was a little tricky with our directions, the navigational lady must have not had her coffee that morning either. We had to do a small loop to get ourselves turned back around. The coffee shop sits directly next to a day care. Once in the right direction we pulled into the spacious parking lot.

The coffee shop doesn't have a lot of seating for those that want to have a large group. It would be the perfect spot for a morning date with a loved one or breakfast with family or a friend. Since this was our first time there we wanted to take it all in. There are cute little tables outside, weather permitting.

The girl who took our order was knowledgeable, friendly, and very outgoing. It's hard to have employees that are proud of their job and will go out of their way to help customers. When we had questions she explained everything in detail. It made ordering easy.

It was requested that when we arrive to ask for Chris. The girl that was taking our order went and got her for us. Chris was helpful and even shared about their white espresso. She was quite gracious and you could see how she interacted with other customers. It was a welcoming site.

WHITE ESPRESSO: A shot of espresso that is made with a unique roast of coffee beans, white coffee beans.

Since it's pumpkin season a flight of pumpkin latte's was on the list of things to try. We ordered a double flight. On one side were several pumpkin samples and on the other side we asked the barista to pick four of their customer favorites.

OH, MY PUMPKIN!

We then ordered a small cup of their signature coffee. The coffee came from a local roaster, Caruso's Coffee Roasters in Brecksville. There was no way we could have our coffee without ordering some of their food items. Bea had the PB&J Granola Bowl and John had the Biscuits and Gravy.

The PB&J Granola Bowl was refreshing, healthy, and all around delicious. As for the Biscuits and Gravy? THE BEST BISCUITS AND GRAVY AROUND!

To take home we had them pack up one of their Pumpkin Maple Muffins. That's right! A Pumpkin Maple Muffin! Our report is that it was delicious, but you really couldn't taste too much of the maple. The pumpkin was the most dominant flavor.

We are going to take you drink by drink and give our review.

After drinking our coffee we walked around a bit and found the perfect Christmas gift for a family member. The cashier gave us a perfect idea of how to make the gift more perfect. When we say there is something for everyone, we mean there is something for everyone.

The Lucky Penny Cafe and Country Roads Mercantile are your one stop shops.
