After a long night of travelling we were desperately in need of some coffee. We knew that Mount Airy, North Carolina was close to where we were heading. A little coffee shop located downtown Mount Airy called Keepsmiling A'Latte. Mount Airy is not only known to be a cute little town, but it is the home of Andy Griffith. Anyone that grew up watching The Andy Taylor show knows Mayberry.



After walking around to stretch our legs we made our way to the coffee shop. The birds were still waking up by the time we were strolling through the doors. After our good morning greeting we were told to ask the barista about the story based around Keepsmiling A'Latte. We won't give the story away, but if you ever make it to Mount Airy be sure to stop in and have them tell you. It will definitely bring tears to your eyes. 

Kesson

When we were deciding on our order, we decided on a few different items. Bea ordered an iced Cotton Candy Latte. I was quite disappointed as the cotton candy flavor was not there. It may have had more flavoring if it was hot. To grab a bite to eat she settled on a blueberry muffin. Fresh and delicious! John was a little more adventurous in his choices. He got himself a Butter Pecan Latte and an Oatmeal Latte with Oatmilk. Both drinks were spot on. The Oatmeal Latte would be perfect for Christmas morning. He also ordered himself a blueberry muffin. He states that the muffins reminded him of the kind his mother used to bake. Their house coffee was strong with no bitterness or burnt flavor. We picked up a bag to take home. 

NOTE: They do not have a way of grinding the beans for you. But don't fret as you can pick up a grinder for about $15. 



One thing you will notice is that they have signatures all over their walls. Of course, we asked the story about it. It's a cool thing they do for their shop. You can even see where we left Bindi's Bean Blog. It was sort of difficult to write, but we did the best we could.


Some other points we feel are important to add is there are no bathrooms for customers, a very clean shop and plenty of parking.

She grew up in the area many years prior to heading off to Colorado to marry the love of her life...John. We were coming in the area for a concert and wanted to grab some coffee prior to meeting up with the other party.  While looking for a coffee shop, Little Birdie Wine Nest caught our attention. We looked over what they had to offer and thought it would make for a perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or two.
