While on a mini getaway, the Java Highway led us to a coffee shop in Wapakoneta, Ohio called Winans Chocolate & Coffee. Our main reason for visiting Wapakoneta was that it's the hometown of Astronaut Neil Armstrong. After indulging in coffee and chocolate we made our way to the Armstrong Air & Space Museum. 

Since this was our first time visiting we didn't know what to expect. Our first impression was that it was a bit upscale with the chocolate being the first thing you saw. They had all sorts of chocolate, but one caught our eye. It was the Milk Chocolate Honeycomb Crisp. The honeycomb crisp was spot on and made our visit worth it. 



Both of us, took a moment before making our coffee selections. They had a few that looked delicious. Bea decided on an iced Autumn Twilight (white chocolate sauce, cinnamon and hazelnut syrup) and John ordered a hot Cozy Caramel (brown sugar cinnamon syrup and caramel sauce). Then like all of our other locations we ordered a small coffee of their house blend. 


Autumn Twilight~ It was an okay drink, but for some reason we were tasting banana. We couldn't figure it out since there was no banana flavoring. 

Cozy Caramel~ Good drink, this is one to get you in the mood for Autumn. The brown sugar cinnamon syrup was the dominant flavor. 

House blend coffee~ The couple of sips were really good. As you got near the bottom of your drink it became quite bitter. 



Their coffee and chocolates come from their factory in Piqua, Ohio. This particular location has parking on the street. We did take a few minutes to walk down the street and look at a few of the shops. You must take a moment to check out the big astronaut helmet they have on display.

Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop 888 Youngstown Kingsville Rd. Vienna, OH 44473 Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop We stumbled upon the Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop while scrolling through Facebook. Upon viewing what they had to offer we knew that a trip to Vienna was in order.  Saturday morning we arose from our coffee craving slumber. Got ready, piled into the car and made our way to get some coffee. We traveled about 30-45 minutes to get there. My father used to joke with us that we would drive 100 miles, one way, to get a cup of coffee. If he could see us now.
