We stumbled upon the Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop while scrolling through Facebook. Upon viewing what they had to offer we knew that a trip to Vienna was in order.
Saturday morning we arose from our coffee craving slumber. Got ready, piled into the car and made our way to get some coffee. We traveled about 30-45 minutes to get there. My father used to joke with us that we would drive 100 miles, one way, to get a cup of coffee. If he could see us now. Grant it, we didn't drive 100 miles, but we did pack on a few miles by the time we made it home.
When we got there we were not aware that they were having a "Coffee with a Cop" event. There were several police officers present from the Vienna Township Police Department. Making our way to the front counter we were met with such a nice employee. She knew it was our first time there and still took a moment to explain what items they had to offer. Any questions we had she answered with a smile and never showed any signs of being annoyed with our questions.
Bea started her order off with a hot Fa La La Latte. When asked what it tastes like, she replied with a Little Debbie Christmas tree cake. Let us tell you, she was spot on! Along with the latte, a Caramel Apple donut from OH Donut Co. was added.
John had to try their hot Peppermint Mocha, with a report of it being the BEST, so far, this holiday season. His sweet tooth was calling out to two different specific donuts. He enjoyed a Maple Bacon donut and a Churro donut.
We weren't quite done with our order. A small house blend coffee was added. Third Day Coffee Roasters is the roaster that they use for their coffee shop. It was an, overall, nice tasting coffee that gives your soul the comfort it seeks with that first sip.
While hanging out, enjoying the deliciousness sitting in front of us, we were approached by a nice gentleman. He asked us about our blog and then proceeded to inform us of a really nice general store just up the road. He was so helpful and we ensured him that we would stop there before heading back home. The general store he was talking about is The Fowler General Store and Bakery in Fowler, Ohio. Walking through the doors was like stepping back in time. We truly enjoyed the feel and warmth that the store gave off. It reminded me of a modern day Little House on the Prairie. The owners were so helpful and went out of their way to help and speak with all the customers. They carry a small selection of Third Day Coffee. Before you ask...YES! We purchased several bags.
What started out as doing a coffee blog ended up at one of our favorite wineries. Since we don't get out that way very often we wanted to stop before we made our way back home. The winery we are speaking of is Country Porch Winery in Cortland, Ohio. We were in conversation with them about the blog when they asked us if we tried their coffee wine. WAIT, WHAT?!?! Coffee wine? Bea tried a sample and was sold. So guess who purchased a bottle, to take home, and enjoy later that evening? You guessed it! John and Bea...
Warning! This is a dessert wine that needs to be enjoyed in small quantities. You could drink it in one setting, but we take no responsibility if you end up bouncing off the walls from being on a sugar rush.

Between the Twisted Peacock Coffee Shop, The Fowler General Store and Bakery and Country Porch Winery we had an amazing day. Most importantly, we met some great people. The world could use more of their kindness.
