Peninsula Coffee House and Market

Peninsula Coffee House and Market
1653 Main Street
Peninsula, OH 44264

If you ever wanted to experience that Hallmark movie feel then you must put Peninsula, Ohio on your list of places to visit. The Cuyahoga River runs right through town. There are beautiful trails that you can walk along if being in nature is your happy place. One of the most interesting things that Peninsula has is the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. During the Summer it's extremely busy with nature lovers.

Peninsula is also the place where John grew up. So returning home always brings him a galore of memories.

Through research we heard about a brand new coffee shop opening up in Peninsula. This was perfect as we were heading into Cleveland and wanted to stop somewhere. A little coffee shop located right next to the river is the newest delight to be brought to town. The place I'm talking about is the Peninsula Coffee House and Market. We had the opportunity to speak with the owner, Mark Anzelc and how the coffee shop came to be.

We don't want to sound like a broken record, but the parking is not the best. If you pull in you better hope that there is parking or you will find yourself having to back all the way out. There are a few spots right in front that you can use if open, but do not use the other spots of the drive way as those are for customers at another location. In the nicer weather you can always park where park visitors go and you will have an over abundance of spaces.

This is a busy location and a bit confusing, but after you place your order and find a seat then things move along pretty quickly. They have a pretty decent system of processing orders for customers.

Once we were taken care of we found a cute little table and waited for our order to be completed. The barista that was making the orders was a riot. He was so much fun to watch, he kept things fun and interesting while we waited.

Both John and Bea ordered a hot White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha and their dark roast coffee that is roasted at Ohio Roasting Company in North Canton, OH. The latte was a bit sweet for our taste buds, but the dark roast coffee was overall a good cup of java. No burnt or bitterness, and the after taste was good. As we sat down to enjoy our coffee, that same barista was heard talking about his favorite latte. It was the hot Honey Maple Latte. It was not overly sweet, which is a plus. You could prominently smell the honey and the drink was quite calm. On a cold day, one might refer to this latte as a delicious morning cereal.

They have a nice selection for those that want a little something sweet. We also ordered the usual Christmas sugar cookies from It's Cookie Day in Canton, OH and a peanut butter cookie from Dudley Baking Company in Hudson, OH. The peanut butter cookie was amazing!

Not only is Peninsula Coffee House and Market a coffee shop, but they also offer guests an opportunity to visit their wine cellar. At the time of our visit it wasn't quite open. From what we can see their wine cellar opened up on December 14th.
