Cummings Coffee & Candy

Cummings Coffee & Candy

We get several messages from people that want us to check out their favorite coffee spots. After making a list and checking it twice, we decided that one place was recommended several times. The place we're talking about is Cummings Coffee & Candy in Butler, PA.

Driving into Butler gave us that warm, small town feeling. It, actually, has a few more people than where we live. After driving around a bit, trying to find a parking space we were able to get parked and start our adventure. Walking through the doors takes you back in time. Cummings Candy & Coffee has a total of four locations. We wanted to visit the original shop.

For a location that was established back in 1905, they've come a long way with keeping the dream alive. A little known fact is that they're "the oldest family run business in Butler." We enjoyed our visit so much that we cannot wait to return. Everyone was so helpful and you could tell how proud they were to be a part of the Cummings legacy.

Everything looked so good!

Since we were visiting two locations we needed to watch how much coffee was consumed that day. If we drank what we wanted, there's a good possibility we may not have slept for a few days. Bea chose the Teddy Barry (hazelnut and toasted marshmallow), John went with the Cupid's Kiss (red velvet and chocolate). Both lattes were excellent and not overly sweet. That is one thing we do pay attention to when we are on location. If a drink is too sweet we are left feeling nauseous.

Okay we lied! We did get a cup of their house blend called Main Street Coffee. We loved it so much that we brought a bag of it home with us. They have several other types of blends to choose from. Another one that captured our attention was their New Orleans blend. If you follow us on our Facebook page you probably already know that we are huge fans of chicory. Add it to coffee and we are sold. I have one word for it...AMAZING!

While on location we were joined by a special guest, one who knew his way around Butler. It was so nice to be able to visit George. He also introduced us to Barry, who is the owner of Cummings Coffee & Candy. Barry took a few moments out of his busy day to talk with us.

We cannot forget to share with you that they have a nice assortment of chocolate and other sweets. So if coffee is not something you have a taste for don't fret they have other options. They have quite a few places that you can sit and visit. Just take a few moments and allow yourself to go back in time. The vibe that's there is a good one and one that will leave you feeling happy.
