As 2024 wraps up, John and Bea thought it would be good to get in one more location to close the year out. A few other locations have recommended us visiting Heartwood Coffee Roasters in Hudson, Ohio. So on the drop of a dime we made the journey out to Hudson. When we arrived it was quite busy and there was a line. Don't fret as it moves rather quickly. The staff has a good system and the service is spot on. They have three locations in Ohio (Hudson, Chagrin Falls, and Pinecrest-Orange Village). We cannot review Chagrin Falls and Pinecrest-Orange Village since we didn't visit those locations.

The Hudson location has a cozy feeling with a decent amount of seating. It tends to get a little loud so it might not be practical for someone wanting to read, have a meeting or study. We did find out that they do roast their own beans and they use Evergreen Bakery for their baked goods. 


Bea wasn't really in the mood for anything seasonal but decided on a hot Maple Latte. Good drink and the Maple stood out. John ordered a hot Eggnog Latte and a Maple Latte with smoked Maple. His Eggnog latte was good and he noticed more of the coffee coming out. As for the Maple latte with smoked Maple...AMAZING! We never had anything like it. It was smokey but not overbearing. It made a delicious addition to the Maple latte.

Like many of the other locations we ordered a small cup of their Mistletoe Holiday Blend. At first, we weren't a fan as it had a slight bitter taste to it. The more you drank it you liked it. Was it a favorite? No, but it wasn't bad either. 


A return visit to Heartwood Coffee Roasters is definitely on the list. We want to try more of their drinks and definitely pick up another Maple Latte with smoked Maple.

We knew that Mount Airy, North Carolina was close to where we were heading. A little coffee shop located downtown Mount Airy called Keepsmiling A'Latte. She grew up in the area many years prior to heading off to Colorado to marry the love of her life...John.
